NEWS: Were women kidnapped from Westcliff?

Police are appealing for information following an “incident of concern” in Westcliff, which happened on Saturday (May 8th).
Officers received details of a woman being placed in to a vehicle in Ceylon Road, by a man who appeared to have restrained her.
Another woman was also put in the vehicle, which then drove off towards London Road at about 11pm.

Police are looking to establish whether the women were being taken against their will.
The man is described as white, aged 50 to 60-years-old, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, with grey balding hair and a beard which was short in length.
He wore a white shirt, black waist length coat which was undone and possibly black trousers. He was heard to speak with a local accent.
The woman who was placed in to the car by the man was white, with tied up red hair, aged 30, 5ft 4ins tall, of medium build and was wearing a short jacket which was open at the front.
The second woman was also white, aged 18 to 20-years-old, 5ft 4ins to 5ft 5ins tall, with long straight brown hair which went down to chest length. She was of small build.
