Detectives in Leigh have released a CCTV still of four young men who may
have vital information that could help the investigation into an assault on a 48-year-old man in the town.
The attack took place shortly before 1am on Saturday, May 15, 2010 near Zabrano on Leigh Road. The victim suffered two fractures to his lower jaw requiring specialist surgery at Broomfield hospital with the insertion of three metal plates. He is now recovering at home but faces several months of treatment and recuperation.
The man responsible for the attack is around 17 years and white or of mixed race, 5’8″, with short black hair and may live in Westcliff. Dc Tanya Bailey told longpier.com,
“The four young men caught on CCTV are not involved in the attack but may have crucial information that could help the investigation. I think that they may have spoken to both the victim and the attacker just before the assault and I urge them to contact me. They may have been to a party in a house in nearby Dundonald Drive.”
The young men, or anyone who recognises them, are asked to contact police at Leigh on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
