Southend United will head to Premier League outfit Wolves in the second round of the Carling Cup.
The Shrimpers beat Championship side Bristol City on Tuesday night, at Roots Hall, to secure their place in the next round.
The draw was made by Paul Merson and Iain Dowie on Sky Sports News on Wednesday night (11th Aug). Southend were already drawn as an away side, following the seeding of lower league clubs.
The game – at Molineux – will be the first time the Blues have played Premier League opposition in a competitive game, since losing to Hull City in the same cup competition last season.
The tie will be played sometime during the week commencing Monday 23rd August.
