Ex-Southend United boss Steve Tilson has hit out at the club over the situation regarding his contract.
Tilson – who was put on gardening leave and replaced by Paul Sturrock over the summer – has told The Sun newspaper that he wants the situation sorted out sooner rather than later.
The former Blues boss – who spent 7 years in charge of the Blues – is currently helping Dover Athletic on a voluntary basis. He’s been effectively gagged since his departure, as he is still being paid by the Club.
In an exclusive interview, he told the Sun:
“I’ve not been paid since the end of last season – and am owed not only wages but compensation for losing my job. I respect the decision to sack me – but just ask to be paid what is due, so I can then find work elsewhere to provide for my wife and family.
“I gave Southend good service and this leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.”
“I understand the club’s position but have had no discussion with them about my situation.”
The football club has released this statement:
“Both Steve Tilson and the club have instructed lawyers to deal with the settlement of the contractual agreements following his departure. It is in the interests of both the Club and Steve Tilson to settle matters as soon as possible.
A full statement will be made at a later date as to the circumstances surrounding the settlement of arrangements.”

I think it’s shocking how Steve has been treated! After the last three saesons not having a penny to spend on any players I think he did magnificently and they treat him like this!!
Sort him out now!
