WESTCLIFF: Man charged over Station Road stand-off

A man from Westcliff has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm, with intent to cause fear of violence following a stand-off with policeĀ  on Wednesday (11 Aug).

Ian Stocker, aged 43, who is unemployed and from Station Road will appear at Southend Magistrates Court today (Fri 13).

Two other men arrested at the time of the incident – aged 60 and 41 – have been released without charge.

The police helicopter was scrambled during the incident and the road between Milton and Palmiera Avenue was closed for a time.

A fourth man was arrested during the incident for unconnected offences.

John Terry, aged 28 from Alibon Road, Dagenham has been charged with two assaults on police officers, an act of outraging public decency, and two public order offences. He is also due to appear at Magistrates court in Southend today.
