League 2: Tilson & Brush unveiled at Lincoln

Friday October 15 2010 - Last Updated at 10:35

As Longpier.com exclusively revealed on our Twitter feed on Sunday, ex-Southend United boss Steve Tilson has been unveiled as the new Lincoln City manager.  His assistant at Roots Hall for so many years – Paul Brush – becomes his number two at Sincil Bank.

Tilson, 44, was put on “gardening leave” by Blues’ chairman Ron Martin in the summer, following the club’s relegation to League Two.  Paul Brush was sacked by Martin in early 2010.

The removal of the pair angered the majority of Southend fans who cited Tilson’s ability to get the most out of players with a limited budget.  He also oversaw the most successful period in the history of the club during his seven year tenure.

Tilson and Brush have signed two and a half year contracts with the Imps and will be joined by Scott Lindsey – who stays at Sincil Bank as first team coach.
